Jeremy White
About me
Hi, I’m Jeremy! I’m a queer, gay male therapist living in Meanjin/Brisbane. My pronouns are he/him. I grew up locally and enjoy nature, coffee, exercise, and walking along the river with my Cavoodle, Arlo. In addition to working as a counsellor at Stonewall Medical Centre, I have been working in various community-based settings since 2016, including youth homelessness, community-based sexual health, and in a new role as a peer HIV contact tracer. I’m also interested in facilitating group spaces and developing community, so that people can feel a sense of belonging, explore their intersectional identities, and learn from others in a safe and supportive environment.
My approach
I have been told my counselling approach is warm and empathetic, trauma-informed, non-judgmental, and sex-positive. I use person-centred therapy, emotion-focused individual therapy, mindfulness, somatic practices, and motivational interviewing techniques in my work. I intend to train in Internal Family Systems in 2025-2026. In my practice, I aim to create physical, emotional, cultural, and spiritual safety, connection, and integration, so you can process significant issues and respond to life with greater curiosity and insight.
Qualifications
My qualifications include a Master of Counselling and a Bachelor of Social Science in Youth Welfare and Community Development. I am a level 2 member of the Australian Counselling Association.
Fees – Sliding Scale
I offer a sliding scale for those on a limited income who struggle to meet their daily needs. A sliding scale relies on the principles of truthfulness, respect for complexity, and accountability to work. I do not require income verification, and I trust that you will provide accurate information. Please be mindful that if you request a price at the lowest end of the scale when you can afford a higher fee, you limit access to those who genuinely need the financial assistance. To make my practice financially viable, I have limited spots available at discounted rates. I usually recommend fortnightly counselling.
Tier 3 – Regular rate: $140 / hour (in person or online)
Tier 2 – Discounted rate: $110 / hour (limited spots available; in person or online)
Tier 1 – Financial Hardship: $80 / 50 minutes (limited spots available; in-person or online).
Please refer to the image at the bottom of the page to determine your position on the sliding scale.
Availability and location
I am available on various weekday mornings and all day Thursday, online or at Stonewall Medical Centre. I can offer Saturday and Sunday appointments as needed. Please reach out to inquire about what I can offer.
